India urges immediate end to Gaza violence
Dec 28, 2008, 11:08 GMT
New Delhi - India said Sunday that there should be an immediate end to the use of force against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
'While India is aware of the immediate cross-border provocations resulting from rocket attacks particularly against targets in southern Israel, it urges an immediate end to the use of force against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip that has resulted in large numbers of casualties,' a statement from India's Foreign Ministry said.
India hoped that ongoing efforts to restore peace would be supported, the statement added.
