Mauritania recalls its ambassador to Israel

Nouakchott, Mauritania - The African country of Mauritania on Monday recalled its ambassador to Israel in protest at the Israel's ongoing military offensive in the Gaza Strip, Mauritanian Foreign Ministry announced.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is one of the few Muslim countries with diplomatic relations with Israel, and since the Gaza offensive several parties in the north-western African country have repeated demands for a complete break of relations with Israel.
