Baghdad - A suicide bomber detonated his belt near an army patrol in northern Iraq on Tuesday, killing two persons and injuring another six, security sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.
The detonation took place in the Yarmouk district in the western part of Mosul province.
The volatile Mosul province is located some 400 kilometres north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
The suicide attack in Yarmouk was the second bomb blast reported in the region Tuesday, after a suicide car bomber blew himself up near a police patrol in Mosul city, wounding seven persons, five of them policemen.
