Until the Egyptians stop being 'lukewarm' to the outright violation of their countries borders by the very force (the Muslim Brotherhood) whom the Government so despises (and for good reason: they assassinated Sadat, remember), nothing, I repeat nothing will ever be done to halt to smuggling or arms instead of the smuggling of food, house-building materials, etc. If Hamas gave a rat's ass about the population it now controls, miracles would occur. It is *not* that far fetched to see a 'Singapore by the pristine beaches of Gaza' if Hamas where overturned in a coo.
The Palestinians of Gaza have suffered endlessly since Hamas took over in a horribly violent coo where they threw Fatah members off of high rise buildings and 'showed mercy' by 'only' shooting them in both knees.
And anyone who claims that this is the 'root cause' of Israeli occupation, tell me why the Tibetans and many may many other 'downtrodden' peoples haven't done the same to their brethren.
There is nothing so cheap as an Arab life.
This doesn't make sense. Israel and Egypt, the two bordering countries, are not involved in this conference. Yet, their cooperation is necessary in any effort to end arms smuggling. I can't see that these people are going to get much done without including the major players in the region.
