Ankara - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani held talks in Istanbul with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the topic of Kurdish separatists holed up in northern Iraq, Turkish media reported on Monday.
In addition to discussions on how to stop Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) militants from using their bases in mountainous northern Iraq from where they launch attacks on Turkey proper, Talabani and Erdogan also discussed bilateral economic issues and the Middle East peace process.
The two held talks late Sunday night in Istanbul where Talabani was to take part in a forum on world water supplies that was to start on Monday.
