Obama tacitly honours Chirac's stance against Iraq war

Paris -US President Barack Obama has indirectly praised former French president Jacques Chirac's fierce opposition to the US-led invasion of Iraq, the online edition of the daily Le Figaro reported on Thursday.
In a letter described by Chirac as 'very nice,' Obama wrote, 'I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world.'
The use of the word 'peace' was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac's stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed as senator.

In other news, President Obama congratulated Premier Brezhnev on his economic success in the Soviet Union, inviting him to an economic council in Washington next week where the administration is seeking solutions for dealing with the pesky economic malaise.
'The Premier has been an inspiration to me since childehood,' said the President. 'I'm hopeful that he can help us uplift the troubles caused by private industry and show us a path toward unified governmental control which will bring hope, change and prosperity to all lobbyists and bureaucrats in Washington.'
Sadly my president is a moron. To all of those who voted for him thanks for electing a President who makes Bush look like the master of tact and grace as well as the smartest man on the planet.
Obama is deliberately making friends of our enemies and enemies of our friends...

Did you people who voted for Obama (or any other Democrat for that matter) REALLY think that anything different would happen? Why consistantly vote for people who the rest of the world scoffs at? When Reagan was in the White House, the rest of the world KNEW they would get away with anything because He backed up what he said. The same thing with both George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. And if they were dumb enough to pull something, oh, like September 11th perhaps, they would suffer consequences. All Democrats want to do, is TALK about it. Talk, talk, talk, talk...thats it. There comes a time to stop talking, and do something, which liberals can't seem to find the balls to do.

Chirac was the latest of multiple French Presidents who wanted to side not with the Arab states, but with the extremist leaders of those states in a coalition against the rest of the west. Now that France is actually DOING something PRODUCTIVE under Sarkozy, Obama sidesteps him and talks to his predecessor. France has been the laughing stock of politics for a while now, but recently you have to respect what they've accomplished (whether you agree with it or not) because they are actually following through with what they plan. Talk is cheep, and in the case of former presidents kinda worthless. I don't hear of anyone writing Bush or Clinton about their future relations with the US.

I keep going back and forth: 'Is my president an idiot or a monster?' I suppose in the end it doesn't matter, but part of me prefers idiot. Sadly after last week and this weekend and the 'economic arson' (from a NY Times writer)committed by Congress with his gleeful approval I concluded 'monster.' But now I have a smile on my face, because, as he has done every other time I concluded 'monster,' he's shown himself to be an idiot.
At least Bush was funny, this guy’s dangerous! May Allah guide him through these troubling times until we can vote again.

Obama is a self aggrandizing pinhead elitist who thinks he can change the world view as it stands now to fit his own misguided view of the world. I hope the europeans realize what a know nothing buffoon we have elected as president.
Doesn't matter at all 'Wrongagain' my opinion of Obama and an ever growing negative opinion of him still stands.

I just have to wonder, why would Obama send a letter to Chirac? Is he under the impression that Chirac is still the leader of France? Or is he sidestepping Sarzozy to publically snub him? Given his treatment of Gordon Brown, it would not surprise me.
What does surprise me is the level of ignorance this administration has shown. Honestly, are they ALL baffoons?
