Yemenia aircraft's black boxes reported found (Extra)
Jul 1, 2009, 7:14 GMT
Paris - The black boxes of the Airbus A310-330 that crashed Tuesday into the Indian Ocean appear to have been located, French Junior Minister for Development Alain Joyandet told French television on Wednesday.
'It seems as if they have been located,' said Joyandet, who flew to the Comoros Islands overnight to assist in the search for survivors.
Joyandet said that bad weather could have been the reason the Yemenia Air plane carrying 142 passengers and a crew of 11 plunged into the sea after missing its first attempt at landing in the Comoran capital, Moroni.
In addition, he said, the aircraft was 'not in good shape.' He said he hoped that the black boxes 'will reveal the truth.'
