Biden: US is not standing in the way of any Israel attack on Iran
Jul 5, 2009, 18:18 GMT
Washington - The United States would not stand in the way of a military attack by Israel on Iran, US Vice President Joe Biden said on Sunday.
The US was not in a position to dictate to any sovereign nation what they could or could not do, Biden said, speaking in an interview on the US broadcaster ABC.
He added that Israel could make itself those decisions that it thought in its best interests.
US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen however warned against military action against Iran. Speaking in US broadcaster CBS, the US military head said that such an action would be destabilizing to the region and would have unforeseen consequences as well.
