Beirut/Tel Aviv - A Katyusha rocket fired from Lebanon landed near the Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona on Tuesday evening, a military spokesman in Tel Aviv said.
The missile exploded in a field about 300 metres from the town. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
Earlier, Lebanese security sources said at least one missile was fired into northern Israel from the Mais al Jabal and Houla area of southern Lebanon.
In retaliation, Israeli artillery shelled Houla, the sources said.
