Nov 9, 2009, 21:58 GMT
New York - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon welcomed Monday the new national unity government in Lebanon, urging the parties to work together.
Ban expressed 'satisfaction' that the political stalemate was over. It took five months after parliamentary elections for leaders to form a new government.
He called on Lebanese political leaders 'to continue to work together in a spirit of unity, dialogue and cooperation' and to consolidate sovereignty over the country.
