No deal on prisoners exchange yet, says Netanyahu (Extra)
Nov 24, 2009, 9:36 GMT
Jerusalem - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday no deal had yet been sealed on a prisoners exchange with the radical Islamist Hamas movement ruling Gaza.
'There still isn't any conclusion, any deal, any decision,' he told reporters while visiting Israel's national police headquarters in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu's remarks came amid reports that a deal on a prisoners exchange could be concluded before the Muslim holiday of Eid el-Adha, which starts Friday.
If a deal was reached, he would bring it before his cabinet for a vote.
A Hamas delegation is expected to submit its latest response to Israel's latest offer in talks in Cairo Tuesday with the German mediator overseeing the indirect negotiations.
