Reports: Iran's deputy atomic chief resigns

Tehran - Iran's deputy atomic chief Mohammad Saeidi has resigned, local media reported Wednesday.
According to Fars news agency, Saeidi's resignation has already been accepted by the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali- Akbar Salehi.
No reason was given for Saeidi's resignation.
Saeidi served as deputy atomic director under both president Mohammad Khatami (1997-2005) and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (since 2005).
A member of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team for several years, Saeidi was known as a technocrat and supporter of a diplomatic settlement of the nuclear dispute.
