Iraqi policeman killed in Mosul bomb explosion
Dec 29, 2009, 8:16 GMT
Mosul, Iraq - An Iraqi policeman was killed and two others injured in a bomb blast that targeted their patrol in a neighborhood east of Mosul, security officials said Tuesday.
The blast went off late Monday night in the northern Iraqi town, some 400 kilometres from the capital Baghdad.
Despite successive security pushes that police say have netted hundreds of suspected insurgents this year, Mosul and its environs, an ethnically diverse area, remain the site of near-daily, deadly attacks.
