Six convicted drug traffickers hanged in central Iran

Tehran - Six convicted drug traffickers and rapists were hanged in central Iran on Saturday.
State media reported that the six, from whom a large quantity of drugs and weapons were confiscated, were executed in a prison in the city of Isfahan, after their initial death sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
Murder, rape, armed robbery and drug trafficking of quantities in excess of five kilograms are among the crimes punishable by death in Iran.
