US pledges 40 million dollars for Palestinian refugees

Washington - The United States on Thursday pledged an additional 40 million dollars to the United Nations relief agency for Palestinian refugees.
The US State Department said the funds would provide humanitarian aid to 4.7 million Palestinians in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, the West Bank and Gaza.
The US contributed more than 267 million dollars in 2009 to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
