Yemen rebels say two missing Saudi soldier are dead
Feb 23, 2010, 17:12 GMT
Sana'a, Yemen - Yemen's Shiite rebel group said on Tuesday that the two Saudi soldiers whom the Saudi army reported missing last month were dead.
'The two remaining Saudi soldiers are dead,' a source at the office of the rebel leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said by phone from the northern Saada province.
He said the group has already informed the Yemeni authorities about the location of the soldiers bodies in the Jabal al-Dukhan border area.
'Now, we consider the file of the Saudi prisoners issue closed,' the source said on condition of anonymity.
The rebel group released three Saudi soldiers last week after taking the prisoners during fighting with Saudi forces on Yemen's north-western borders with the oil-rich kingdom.
