Iraqi president arrives in Jordan for surprise visit
Jun 27, 2010, 11:39 GMT
Amman - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani arrived in Amman on Sunday for a previously unscheduled visit, the official Petra news agency said.
Talabani will hold talks with King Abdullah II on the 'latest Middle East developments, issues of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation,' the agency added.
The president's visit to neighbouring Jordan coincides with a prolonged political crisis in Iraq due to deadlocked talks among key Iraqi parliamentary blocs on the formation of a new government in the wake of the March elections.
