Sep 1, 2010, 23:13 GMT
Tel Aviv - Gunmen opened fire on a car traveling in east of Ramallah in the West Bank late Wednesday night, injuring two Israeli civilians, the Israeli military spokesman said.
It was the second shooting attack in the West Bank in as many days, and comes as Israeli and Palestinian negotiators are meeting under US auspices in Washington to renew direct peace negotiations.
One of the victims, a man, was said to be in serious condition, His companion, a woman, was lightly injured.
On Tuesday night gunmen opened fire on a car driving near the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and killed four Israelis, an attack thought to be aimed at derailing the peace talks.
The military wing of Hamas, which opposes the negotiations with Israel, claimed responsibility for the Tuesday attack, and said it would be the first of many.
There was no immediate claims of responsibility for the Wednesday night shooting.
