Syrian leader arrives in Tehran

Tehran - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived on Saturday in Tehran for a one-day state visit.
The Syrian head of state is to meet with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and is scheduled to discuss the latest regional and global developments.
The official news agency IRNA reported that talks are expected to focus mainly on Iraq, Lebanon and Syria's stance on the latest peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel.
