UN Security Council condemns attacks in Iraq
Nov 10, 2010, 21:38 GMT
New York - The UN Security Council condemned 'in the strongest terms' the spate of attacks that killed dozens of civilians and injured many more people in Iraq.
'The attacks deliberately targeted locations where civilians congregate, including Christian and Muslim places of worship,' the council said in a statement after reviewing the situation in Iraq.
'The members of the council expressed their deep condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirmed their support for the people and the government of Iraq, and their commitment to Iraq's security.'
The council urged the Baghdad government to meet its security responsibility for the entire population in Iraq and to bring the perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of the terrorist attacks to justice.
