US embassy in Yemen warns Americans after attack on foreigners

Sanaa, Yemen - The US embassy in Sanaa issued a security warning to US citizens in Yemen on Thursday after a grenade attack targeted a vehicle carrying foreigners the day before.
In the message on its website, the embassy urged US citizens to remain vigilant regarding their personal security and to avoid areas where this and similar attacks had occurred.
Police officials refused to comment on the reported attack.
Unconfirmed reports on local news websites said that US embassy workers were attacked by a hand grenade while driving in the up-scale neighbourhood of Hadda in the south of the capital late Wednesday.
According to the reports, no one on the vehicle was harmed in the attack.
