Seven killed in Iraqi violence

Baghdad - Seven people were killed and eight injured Friday in two separate attacks in Iraq, according to police sources.
Gunmen blew up two houses south of Baghdad, killing five people and injuring four, police sources said.
In the north, two policemen were killed and four soldiers injured when bombs went off targeting their separate patrols in Tikrit city.
US-Iraqi joint forces arrested eight suspects during a search operation to track down gunmen in Hilla city, some 60 kilometres south of Baghdad, police added.
