Security guard opens fire at Tel Aviv seaside promenade
Jan 19, 2011, 21:35 GMT
Tel Aviv - A security guard opened fire at a group of innocent civilians at Tel Aviv's main seaside promenade late Wednesday, killing one and moderately injuring another, police said.
The guard of a restaurant along the promenade opened fire after an apparent argument with people visiting the establishment, spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told the German Press-Agency dpa.
A large police force arrived at the scene and began a hunt for the gunman, who initially fled but shortly afterwards handed himself over to the police, Rosenfeld said.
