Jan 23, 2011, 10:26 GMT
Baghdad - At least 13 people were killed and 30 injured in a series of explosions in six different neighbourhoods in Baghdad on Sunday, security sources said.
The bombings took place consecutively throughout the capital. One of the attacks targeted Iranian pilgrims.
The attacks took place despite tight security measures taken to secure pilgrims attending a Shiite ritual marking 40 days of mourning commemorating the death of the Prophet Mohammed's grandson, Hussein, at the Battle of Karbala in the year 680.
