Feb 10, 2011, 21:05 GMT
Jerusalem - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday night that he hoped whichever government ruled Egypt would respect the peace treaty the two countries signed in 1979.
The premier was quoted on Israel Army Radio as saying that the treaty, the first Israel had signed with an Arab country, was 'an asset to the world, to the Middle East, to Israel and to Egypt.'
Media reports said government circles in Israel were following developments in Egypt with great attention.
