EU's Ashton to visit Lebanon on Wednesday

Beirut - Catherine Ashton, the European Union's foreign policy chief, will visit Lebanon as part of her trip to the Middle East , a source at Lebanon's foreign ministry told German Press Agency dpa Monday.
She is due to meet with the Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, outgoing Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Prime Minister-designate Nagib Mikati and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali el Shami during her visit on Wednesday.
Discussions will focus on the situation in Lebanon and on developments in the region.
Ashton visited Tunisia on Monday and is due to visit a number of countries in the Middle East region, including Israel and occupied Palestinian territories.
