Israel's Netanyahu thanks France for intervening in Libya

Jerusalem - Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked France Thursday for its actions against the regime of Moamer Gaddafi in Libya, saying they sent out a message of determination and helped prevent a massacre.
Meeting visiting French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe, Netanyahu noted that Gaddafi had 'was never a friend of Israel or the Jewish people and Israel will not be sorry to see him disappear from the map.'
Gaddafi has a long history of support for international terrorism and violence against his people,' a communique issued by Netanyahu's office after the meeting with Juppe quoted the premier as saying.
The Israeli leader added that he hoped that, when a new government was formed in Libya, it would advance peace and security for all people in the region.
