Truck driver kills three Egyptian soldiers at checkpoint
Jun 4, 2011, 9:47 GMT
Al-Arish, Egypt - Three Egyptian soldiers were killed when a truck driver drove through a checkpoint in the northern Sinai city of al-Arish, a security source said Saturday.
The truck hit a tent beside the checkpoint where soldiers were sleeping. A fourth soldier was seriously injured.
The driver is in police custody.
Five policemen were killed in the same spot, in the eastern side on al-Arish, during the Egyptian uprising earlier this year. The army has taken over the checkpoint since then.
