Car bomb blast kills six northern Iraq
Jun 26, 2011, 7:57 GMT
Baghdad - Six people were killed on Saturday in a car bomb attack targeting a police patrol in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, police sources said Sunday.
One policeman and five civilians were killed when the car parked on the side of the road exploded in the Ikhaa district, eastern Mosul. Four policemen were also injured.
Mosul, which is 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, is among the most ethnically diverse, but dangerous, regions of Iraq. Insurgents continue to mount near-daily attacks in the area.
