Iran prohibits dancing lessons in kindergartens
Aug 15, 2011, 18:20 GMT
Tehran - Iran has prohibited dancing lessons in kindergartens, the news website Aftab reported Monday.
Aftab quoted Welfare Organization head Ahmad Esfandiari as saying that kindergartens that teach dancing were immoral and would act against Islamic values.
He warned that kindergartens violating the new rules by continuing dance lessons would lose their working license.
Esfandiari added that kindergartens should become 'Koranic' and therefore increase religious teachings to the children.
The Islamic establishment says that the enemies of Iran have started a cultural war against the younger generation with the aim of imposing Western culture and undermining religious beliefs and sentiments.
