Nine Iraqi prison inmates killed in fire

Baghdad - At least nine inmates were killed and 14 injured Monday after an electrical fault sparked a fire at a prison in eastern Baghdad, said the Justice Ministry.
Ministry spokesman Haidar al-Saadi told Iraqiya television that they had started transferring prisoners from the municipality prisons to other prisons two weeks ago because of the deteriorating infrastructure.
No other details on the fire were immediately available.
