Egypt's finance minister resigns after deadly clashes
Oct 11, 2011, 13:04 GMT
Cairo - Egypt's Finance Minister Hazem el-Beblawi has resigned, official media reported Tuesday.
Sources at the cabinet told dpa that his resignation comes in protest at 'the government's weak performance in handling the clashes' clashes between mostly Christian protesters and army troops late Sunday that killed 26 people.
Beblawi was appointed by the ruling military council in July following mass protests against the former minister Samir Radwan.
