Five policemen killed in bombing in northern Iraq
Oct 30, 2011, 10:19 GMT
Mosul - Five policemen were killed in a roadside bomb attack in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Sunday, an official told dpa.
Several shops were damaged in the explosion and police cordoned off the scene to prevent any further attacks, Mosul security chief Mohamed al-Jabouri said.
Violence in Iraq had steadily dropped after Sunni-Shiite bloodshed peaked in 2006. But bombings have recently become an almost daily event, often targeting security personnel.
