Iran executes nine convicted criminals

Tehran - Nine people, including a woman, were executed in Iran on Tuesday, following convictions for drug trafficking and rape, state media reported.
The woman was one of six drug traffickers hanged at a prison in the western city of Kermanshah, the news agency Fars reported.
Two rapists were hanged in a public square in Kermanshahm, the report added.
Another rapist was hanged in the city of Saveh in central Iran.
Murder, rape, armed robbery and drug trafficking of quantities in excess of 5 kilograms are among crimes punishable by death in Iran.
