Jordan parliament rebukes Islamists for arranging "military parade"

Amman - Jordan's lower house of parliament on Monday accused the Muslim Brotherhood, the country's main opposition group, of arranging a 'military parade' in Amman last week to press for political reform.
'This provocative, muscle-flexing move has turned the pro-reform peaceful mobility into a military, factional mobility that ignores dialogue and the need to abide by the country's laws,' the house said in a statement.
Several thousand Muslim Brotherhood followers, including scores of youth wearing green headbands, staged a demonstration after Friday prayers in central Amman to protest an attack, by a 'pro-government mob' on a rally in Mafraq, 60 kilometres east of Amman, on December 23.
The Muslim Brotherhood and its political arm, the Islamic Action Front, have been involved in almost weekly demonstrations over the past 10 months to push their demand for political reform, including the dissolution of the lower house of parliament.
