Much work remains, senior IAEA official says after Iran trip
Feb 1, 2012, 9:06 GMT
Vienna - A senior international nuclear inspector said Wednesday that his team had a good trip to Iran, but added that much work remained to solve open questions about the country's nuclear programme.
'We had three day of intensive discussions about all our priorities,' said Herman Nackaerts, the chief inspector of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), upon his arrival at Vienna airport.
'Of course there's still a lot of work to be done, and so we have planned another trip in the very near future,' he told reporters.
On the three-day visit, the senior IAEA delegation had sought to work out an agreement with Iran on establishing the nature of Tehran's alleged nuclear weapons programme.
Nackaerts did not say whether such a work plan had been concluded.
