Iranian ground forces begin war games
Feb 4, 2012, 14:48 GMT
Tehran - Iran's ground forces on Saturday began war games, a commander of the country's powerful Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) said.
Mohammad Palpur told Fars news agency that the exercises had begun in the Jahrom area of southern Iran, with the aim of maintaining the readiness of ground forces.
Tensions have recently escalated between Iran and other world powers over its nuclear programme, which the West fears could be aimed at making a nuclear weapon.
