Feb 11, 2012, 10:15 GMT
Beirut - At least 10 people were wounded on Saturday in renewed clashes in northern Lebanon between gunmen loyal to the Syrian regime and its opponents, a witness in the area told dpa.
'Gunmen are exchanging gunfire and rocket-propelled grenades,' the witness said.
The clashes were taking place in the Bab al Tabbneh and Jabal Mohsen neighborhoods, both located in the northern Lebanese port city of Tripoli.
'Lebanese troops are trying to contain the escalating situation,' a Lebanese army source told dpa.
