Syria rejects UN human rights accusations
Feb 14, 2012, 17:33 GMT
Beirut - Syria rejected allegations Tuesday by UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay that government forces had committed crimes against humanity during the country's 11-month uprising, according to state-run Syrian news agency SANA.
'The foreign ministry, in a message sent to the UN Human Rights Commission, categorically rejected the new allegations made by the commission,' SANA reported.
The message said the UN commission was 'turning into a tool in the hands of some countries targeting Syria, and ignoring the terrorist crimes committed by the armed groups.'
