Iranian president to unveil new nuclear projects
Feb 15, 2012, 5:14 GMT
Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to inaugurate nuclear projects on Wednesday, state media reported.
The reports did not say which projects but it was widely expected that the president would open the new uranium enrichment site of Fordo in Qom province.
The facility, about 140 kilometres south of Tehran, is capable of enriching uranium to levels of 3.5, 4 and 20 per cent.
Enriched uranium is a critical component for both civil nuclear power generation and atomic weapons.
ISNA news agency said the unveiling of new projects would show that Iran will not be intimidated by world powers' threats and would continue with its technological advances.
