Syrian government forces kill 18 army defectors

Cairo - Syrian government troops Thursday killed 18 army defectors during clashes in the southern province of Daraa, opposition activists said.
The troops were carrying out a massive-scale attack in the dissident province, near the border with Jordan, in a hunt for deserters, said the opposition Syria Revolution General Committee, quoting residents.
