Beirut - At least 34 people were killed in various Syrian provinces on Tuesday that were shelled by government troops, an opposition activist said.
'Twenty-five of them were killed by the shelling of security forces in the central provinces of Homs and Hama,' Omar Homsi, an activist based in Homs, told dpa.
Nine people were killed in the northern province of Idlib, near the Syrian-Turkish border, he said.
