some peoples belief in religion are so feable that even the smallest freedoms will threaten them. The Christians seemed to have survived the turnover from a religious based govermental system without losing their belief system. These leaders and their so called pious beliefs, dont want their sins to be broadcast in a free press so they chase others and condemn those that threaten their very existence.

''conservative clerics condemned it as 'un-Islamic''

There were no suicide bombing acts or men supressing women acts. This was certsainly un-Islamic.

not believing in god is Un-Islamic.....so why should people be punished for that?...hmmm..they used to burn witches at the stake, till sane minds took over. they used to charge people with blasphame in the west, till sane minds took over. It seems that most of Aghanistan enjoyed the show...so why should a few dimwitted humans dictate the joys of being human to them. Who's in charge? They say they are an Islamic state....hmmmm....well what if the Aghanistanis want to be a secular state that allows multiple beliefs, what then? You bet your ass the Religious nutbars will be up in arms and will kill anyone who wants that kind of freedom. Why? because it threatens their belief system...freedom allways does.
