Pakistan conducts successive test missile launch
Nov 29, 2006, 6:43 GMT
Islamabad - Pakistan on Wednesday conducted its second ballistic missile test launch this month, successfully firing a nuclear-capable Hatf 4 (Shaheen-I) medium-range carrier, the military said.
The missile, which can fly 700 kilometres, was launched during exercises of Pakistan's Strategic Force Command, following its November 16 test of a Hatf 5 missile with a range of more than 1,400 kilometres.
India on Monday fired two Prithvi short-range missiles in an interception exercise, one knocking the other down in mid-flight.
The rival neighbours first conducted nuclear weapons tests in May 1998.
