Security increased after bus bombs kill 21 in Sri Lanka

Colombo - Security in public transport was stepped up in Sri Lanka after two bus bombs killed 21 people and injured more than 80 others, military officials said Sunday.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa summoned top military officials and police with Transport Minister A.H.M. Fowzie to discuss about security arrangements for passengers and baggage in public transport.
Both bus explosions were identified as parcel bombs triggered by time devices.
The government blamed rebels of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for the bombings, which the LTTE denied.
Earlier last week 15 civilians living in a rebel-controlled area were killed when the air force bombed the zone. Military officials maintain they had hit a rebel target, but a Catholic bishop in the area said all victims were civilians.
Fighting in Sri Lanka has escalated over the past year with over 3,100 deaths since December 2005.

Srilanka started their ETHNIC CLEANSING OF TAMILS IN 1948 AS SOON AS THE BRITISH LEFT AND 30 YEARS BEFORE LTTE EVEN CREATED AFTER THE SRILANKA KILLED MORE THAN 20,000 TAMILS IN COLD BLOOD WITH NO ONE PUNISHED FOR THOSE MASS KILLINGS AND ALSO AFTER SRILANKA STOLEN 7000 SQUARE MILES OF TAMIL LANDS BY STATE AIDED ETHNIC CLEANSING.
Of course, We Tamils condmen the barbaric bombing of the two buses and the culprits should be brought to justice and the internbational community must form a WARCRIMES TRIBUNAL to investigate all the killings in the island but Srilanka like to pick and choose the crimes to investigated to hide the GENOCIDE of TAMILS.
LTTE never ever target civilians and Srilankan government themselves declared this after the LTTE attacked the GALLE NAVY camp to prevent killings of Tamils by the barbaric Srilankan Navy.
As per the LTTE's support among Tamils, We Tamils 100% Support LTTE because the Srilanka never ever treat Tamils as their own citizens and betrayed all the peace pacts since 1956 to date and continued to do so even during the CFA and so called peace process.

LTTE defense spokesperson condemns GoSL attempt to blame LTTE
The LTTE defense spokesperson Ilanthirayan speaking about the allegations made by the Government of Sri Lanka re the two bomb blasts on Friday and Saturday said, “Government of Sri Lanka is trying to blame the LTTE for the two bomb blasts in the south of the island on Friday and Saturday. This is a baseless allegation made without any evidence to support it. GoSL attempt at blaming the LTTE is aimed at discrediting the LTTE”.
“This is a feeble attempt by the GoSL which stands accused of horrendous and repeated crimes against humanity carried out against the Tamil people in the Tamil homeland”, Ilanthirayan added.

Aerial attack on Padahuthurai, a crime against humanity - Bishop
The Bishop of Mannar Diocese, Rt Rev Rayappu Joseph, who visited Padahuthurai hamlet, which was completely destroyed by indiscriminate aerial bombardment by the Sri Lanka Air Force Tuesday morning, has condemned the bombardment and said the attack had destroyed the settlement of the Internally Displaced persons. There was no military installation of the LTTE in the area, the Bishop told media. The Bishop, calling the bombardment 'a crime against humanity,' urged the International Community to send independent observers to NorthEast. Death toll has risen to 15, including 7 children below age nine , a pregnant woman, her child and husband.
13 victims of the bombardment were identified Tuesday night: Anthonipillai Rasakumari, 52, a mother, Anthonipillai Kutti, 26, Anthonipillai Velastin, 30, a mother and her husband Kugan, their 2-years-old son Dayalan, 4-years-old daughter Dayalini, and 1-year-old baby boy of their relative, I. Madusan, V. Tharsini, 8, Jhomson, 9, Vinosan, 6, Uthayakumar, 55, V. Vijitha, 28, and Kili, 32.
The Bishop, while addresing the media in Tamil, condemned the Sri Lankan military for telling a 'barefaced lie,' that the airstrike had hit a LTTE military installation.
Bishop of Mannar, Rt Rev Rayappu Joseph, visited Padahuthurai within 4 hours of the attack. ICRC officials visited the attack site after the Bishop and the SLMM is expected to visit the site Wednesday.
'Such an open lie hurts us even further than the gruesome attack itself,' Bishop Rayappu said.
'There is no hostile military presence [of the Tigers] in this area. These are innocent civilians who have been living here since 1995. These are people who were driven from Navanthurai in Jaffna by the atrocities of Sri Lankan forces.They were leading a simple life barely enough to survive with basic livelihood of small scale fishing on a day to day basis in the shallow waters.'

ri Lankan military carries out another atrocity against civilians
The Sri Lankan military has begun the year with another atrocity as it escalates the war against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
On Tuesday, the air force bombed a Tamil refugee settlement at Padahuthurai near Illupaikadavai in the northwestern district of Mannar. According to an LTTE spokesman, the air raid killed at least 14 civilians, including men, women and children, and injured another 35, who were taken to hospitals in Mannar and Kilinochchi. Scores of shelters were destroyed or damaged.
The military immediately denied bombing civilians. Air force spokesman Group Captain Ajantha Silva told a press conference that two known LTTE targets had been struck—at Mannar and Vaharai in the east. Unclear aerial photos were later released to “prove” that the Mannar target had been an LTTE base. Defence spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella declared that if civilians were killed, the LTTE must have forcibly kept them there.
The Catholic Bishop of Mannar, Rayappu Joseph, who visited the area, condemned the killings. He told the BBC: “I could not find any Tamil Tiger base in that vicinity. It was a small fishing community. The injured and killed were civilians.” He has written to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse to register a complaint over the attack.
Margareta Wahlström, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, issued a statement expressing concern over the Tuesday killings and calling on both sides to protect civilians. Her press release noted that the village of Illupaikadavai, near the air raid, is where “more than 4,000 displaced Sri Lankans have sought shelter from the conflict since early 2006”.

This is a Sri Lienkan government tactic. Mr. Muharjee(Indian Foreign Affairs minister)is coming to Sri Lanka Today and he was expected to take a neutral stand!
There is also condemnation from UN for the aerial bombardment on Tamil civilians which killed over 30 innocent Tamils! They need to divert attention!

118,000 Tamils killed by Sri Lankan state terrorists in the last 24 years and 875 Singhala civilians dead! But the Sri Lienkan government add their military deaths to the Sighala civilian death counts!
Sori Lankan government has 150,000 military (99.9% Singhalese)! This so called mighty military couldn't beat the 13,000 strong Tamil military for the past 23 years. The Tamil military is controlling and running a defacto state of Tamil Eelam in this Island!
Tamils are going to declare their country soon. Sori Lanka has to smear the Tamils image on the world stage in order to stop the declaration!

These LTTE cowards!!! How can anyone calm that these idiots are freedom fighters!!!! These cowards are not fighting for the Tamil race, they are mere terrorists, fighting to stay alive and to stay in power! How does killing innocent civilians travelling to the shops, etc., be justified??? The cowards practise terrorist activities and try to spread terror agmonst the masses, hence they should be dealt with and banned as a terrorist organisation, right around the world!
They hide behind human shields, and kill human beings! They are the scam off this earth, a real cancer on the Tamil race, and these terrorists need to be eliminated!!! The LTTE is killing off it's own Tamil race, while they kill off other innocent civilians also!
The LTTE has a TOTAL DISREGARD for all human life!
