Pakistan receives eight helicopter gunships from US
Feb 2, 2007, 11:00 GMT
Islamabad - The United States on Friday delivered eight helicopter gunships to the aviation wing of Pakistan's army to enhance its fighting capabilities in counter-terrorism operations.
US Ambassador Ryan C Crocker handed over the all-weather Cobra attack aircraft to Pakistani Defence Secretary Tariq Waseem Ghazi in the city of Rawalpindi, state-run Pakistan Television said.
The United States is due to provide a total of 20 helicopters to the Pakistani military under its security assistance programme.
Acknowledging the country's contribution to the global war on terrorism, Crocker assured that the US would continue to help Pakistan meet its military requirements.
This is the first delivery of attack helicopters to Pakistan since it joined the US-led fight against terrorism in 2001.

Whow, that ought to please the military-industrial-congressional complex. And this so-called 'war' against terror is endless, U.S. state terror begets more BlowBack terror, and the coffers of the arms industry (and the congresspeople) are swelling nicely.
It's a yucky world, the U.S. has created.
