Romanian soldier killed in mine blast in Afghanistan

Bucharest/Kabul - A Romanian soldier was killed and another injured Thursday in a mine blast in Afghanistan, the Romanian Defence Ministry in Bucharest said.
The Romanian soldiers were on patrol north of Qalat in the southern province of Zabul when their vehicle drove over the device.
Romania has a 646-strong contingent in Afghanistan. A total of 562 of those troops have been deployed as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and 84 as part of US-led coalition troops.
