Dozens of Taliban killed in southern Afgahnistan

Kabul - Dozens of Taliban militants, including a senior Taliban commander, were killed in a joint operation by Afghan troops and NATO-led international forces in the southern Afghan province of Oruzgan on Sunday, according to the Afghan defence ministry.
The ground troops were supported by fighter planes of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), the ministry said.
There was no information about possible casualties among the security forces.
The clashes were the latestin Afghanistan southern and eastern regions, which are a hotbed of Taliban insurgents.
