Islamabad - At least 10 people died in heavy thunderstorms that wreaked havoc in Pakistan's north-western district of Swat at the weekend, news reports said on Sunday.
Six children of a family were killed and two more were injured when their mud house collapsed during overnight downpour in Madyan area of Swat, the DawnNews television channel reported.
The news channel said two people died in Matta sub-district after being struck by lightning, while two more were killed in Ghalai area.
Heavy showers have also disrupted communication links in Swat, a scenic valley located some 250 kilometres from the capital Islamabad.
