With this deal India has limited Nuclear options at hand. It could no longer expand its military Nuclear arsenals or test new devices. Strategically it allows US to provide and dominate the Indian security. At the same time as India gets into a straitjacket China is expanding its strategic forces. Last time India was sold out was in the 17th and 18th centuary, again by quarreling Indian elite. We will only know if this was the right thing to do a decade or two from now.
